Movie clip Wednesday: Best actor of my lifetime

Milk River Madman is our host this week, while Anonymous Boxer takes a break from hosting. If you wish to play. Post a clip on your site. Try to make it 3 minutes or less, then stop by MRM's site say I'm up, with the title of your movie. You can also see who else is playing. The topic for this week is: The best actor of your lifetime. I chose Jimmy Stewart. Not only was he a good actor, he was a good person, something few actors can claim. He was versatile, as the following will show. These are over time, so pick what you want to leave the rest.

Have a happy clip day!

Hi Karl,
I like your choice...

Mr Stewart is one of the all time greats...I can watch him in any thing.
I had real trouble this week making a choice... so iv'e left it up to the readers...
Happy MCW...

Jimmy Stewart had that rare quality of never looking like he was acting. My favorite Stewart character is George Bailey in It's a Wonderful Life. He was perfect for the part and I watch it every Christmas.

You call this a happy family? Why do we have to have all these kids?

A man after my own heart. Bwahaha

Happy MCW!

The Cheyenne Social Club. OMG, I had totally forgotten about that movie. What a hoot. Jimmy Stewart is a great choice. My fave movie of his? The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance. With the extra added bonus of some John Wayne! WOOHOO! P.S. LOL at Buzzy's comments. But we quote George Bailey all the time too. Classic stuff, we need more men of this caliber in the world.

I ADORE Jimmy Stewart! Cheyenne Social Club was filmed on my ex-father-in-law's ranch and he had nothing but praise for Stewart and Gene Kelly. But my fave Stewart character is Macaulay Connor from Philadelphia Story. He manages to be both funny and heartbreaking.

Princess: He was in the top 10 on your list. (For some reason I can't comment on your blog right now) I would've put in at number one.

Any public funding of Oprah should warrant protests in the street.

Buzz Kill: If you had a dollar for everytime I've used "the kids line" you would be a rich man.

Pam: Unfortunately men of his caliber seem to be a dying breed.

Moi: You know that's good to hear, it reinforces the impression I have of both men. Gene Kelly was a contender for this spot. If I only had the talent to dance like him. I agree, Philadelphia story was a great movie.

Jackie Sue: The man who shot Liberty Valance was a good movie, although the clips were not so good. That's the only a reason I didn't use them. I do find it interesting how some folks love It's a wonderful life and some folks seem to hate it. Me, I like it. Mainly because I thought Donna Reed was a knockout.

such an elegant man. Wouldn't ya love to have knowed Mr. Stewart?

It's a Wonderful Life is a Christmas favorite --fer some reason.

Howl to K9--banker quip.

The line from Come Live With Me is one of mah favorites:

"Now it's perfectly all right for a couple of strangers to get married, but they've got to know each other before they get a divorce."

Happy MCW, Karl

K9: So nice to hear from you. Old Mr. Potter is likely the poster boy for the ones we have now.

Aunty Belle: Yes, he was and yes I would.

It's a good line but if it was switched around there wouldn't be nearly as many divorces.

He was definitely on my list... but his voice rather grates on me!

I gotta disagree, this time.

To me, Jimmy Stewart was always typecast as.....Jimmy Stewart !

Karl said...

Joanna: I can understand.

Heff: Considering the character of the man, that would put a positive aspect on his roles.

Aunty Belle: Thanks for checking in. I'm just fine. I've been out blowing bubbles all week. It makes it difficult to stop by and see how folks are doing.

I'll stop by and say hi, when I get my head above water.

I loved when Jimmy Stewart would be on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. They played off each other so well.

Karl, missed this last week for which I apologize. The Cheyenne Social Club is a great flick. Can't seem to be able to comment on this weeks but GT is on my DVR. Just haven't watched it yet. My buddy Ralph told me that Eastwood's character reminded him of me. Don't know if that's a compliment yet or not.
