Anonymous Boxer is our host, her choice for this week is: Animation. Some of you may remember, how it used to be. Instead of ads and upcoming attractions, before a matinee movie started. There was a cartoon and a newsreel. Let's take a step backward to the days when Karl's allowance 25¢ a week and most of it went to the Saturday matinee.

The Road Runner cartoons were some of my favorites and the happenings at Edwards were always exciting.

I remember the cartoon before the movie and Road Runner was always one of my favorites. Even today, when I can't remember the name of a company I'll say, "you know, the ACME supply company".

Great pick and good way to go with what I think was a difficult theme.

Ahhhh .... classic Warner Brothers cartoons.
My all time favorites!
May I assume the Road Runner is your favorite character?
Mine is Marvin the Martian.
I almost posted him today too! lol

Excellent choice and clips!

Boxer: I still use the ACME company too. They are the supplier of choice when we need unobttainium.

BlazngScarlet: Yeah I'd like the Road Runner best. They were all funny.

I remember reading an article in National Lampoon about Wile E. Coyote suing ACME. Great stuff. Love the signs at the end. Reminds me of him pulling out an umbrella when a big rock was about to land on him.

Clever toon. I didn't know they were eligible. And I didn't know he ever caught the RR!

I could never figure out how he had money to buy all that stuff from ACME but couldn't buy food. A matter of principle I guess. And I always liked the expression on his face the second before being crushed, dropped or thrown.

Happy MCW!

MRM: He'd likely lose the lawsuit for improper use of the product.

Troll: Probably should not have been eligible, but after wasting 2 hours trying to find a scene from Heavy Metal, it was this or nothing. This one seemed novel, since he caught the Road Runner.

Buzz Kill: Well you know, Wile E. Coyote had to have his priorities.

Yeah, I use to fire one up and watch that stuff, lol.

Heff: Most of my cartoon watching was done in the Mojave Desert, we didn't have a fireplace.
