Haiku Monday: Your way.

Good evening folks,

It's posting time for Haiku Monday. Serendipity was kind enough to give me the win in the last contest. So here we are. Please listen to the video below. Particularly the wording in the song. I want you to tell me, how you did it your way. Relate to how you excelled. Regrets if any. How you did it, your way.

You know the drill. 5-7-5 syllables used for structure. The best haiku make use of both Kigo( seasonal reference), an’ Kireji (“cutting” word or punctuation ).  You can post as many as you want. Have fun with it. Closing for entries will be midnight Pacific time on Veterans Day, 11/11/13.

Sinatra's i did it my way? I'm asking cause my flippin' corepad won't show me your link. Great theme, btw. Loverly haiku. Your love for your wife and children is always evident. I like that.

Good to see your contest! I missed not having it last week but surely understand, all around. Nice niche, by the way. Oh, here you go.

I wanted it all
easy love, easy life, lost
master retrained well

offered only blue
I made and took the red pill
as such I yet live

love but not marriage
I gave her freedom, took mine
single but happy

I dreamed one last night. Never mind from whence that comes. I even found a vid. Not sure if it warms the cackles... or raises them... that the kids still play.

Oh, and I am up!

I think I can win
too fast, too off, not a chance
a twitch and blood flows

Here's one for fun..

She contemplated...

Why do it the easy way

When there's a hard way?

Hmm, interesting challenge, Karl.

Neither of these should surprise you.

I’ll do it myself!
Five year old bike mechanic.
Dad just smiled, helpless.

Out of step? Me? Nah.
Unimpressed by peer pressure.
My life, look; my way.

Awesome foam! Cruelly funny too. Doubt if anyone understand it though. ;)

Hmm, and Serendipity? I didn't know you were a little grease-monkey! I like the jib of your cut :0 in your second poem. It's a hard life, but true as can be had, innit?

Foam: Yes, it's "My way".

I've been accused by more than a few, of being a loose cannon. They are my claim to legitimacy, a source of stability. And always a source of great pride. As you with and your family. Your pride in son's and Pine Top is evident. A quality, I like as well.

I like your haiku. Had you been male, you would not have contemplated. You would have just picked the hard way by nature.

Doom: Wow, great showing. I'm running late. I'll get by to see your post tomorrow.

Serendipity: No Ma'am, they don't surprise me a bit. I could easily see a fiery Red taking things in her own hands even at five.

Foam:" As you with and your family. Your pride in son's and Pine Top is evident." Should have read: As with you and your family. Your pride in your son's and Pine Top is evident.

I should just turn off auto correct.

I've sent some doozies out on autocorrect, Karl.

I've had no regrets about this version.

is this theme still open I missed a week and am behind

never mind i saw the date will be back with my entries

Rebecca said...

here are my entries visuals will be up tomorrow

This or that, choices
one good, one bad, which is right
my way, only me

test wrong, sad eyes, smile
limited options, choice made
lifetime of heartache

Foam: Exactly, the coop is too full, it's time to fly.

LX: No offense, but I'm sorry to hear that. "I killed a cat in not a shy away" isn't a lyric, I would have thought you would find acceptable.

Becca: Wow, your second is pretty intense. I'll stop by tomorrow and see.

If any veterans are visiting Karl today, thank you for your service. Without all of you our lives here would be very different from what they are today.

Serendipity: A fine sentiment. I know both LX and Doom have served. LX capturing museum quality photographs of his time in Vietnam. And Doom, well where he served, no photographs are allowed. Still they, like all others who serve, stood up to make this country secure and its freedom (from outside influence at leased) and one of the safest places in the world.

I'm kind of hoping the low turn out this week is because folks are out honoring the vets around them. Otherwise it must be my aftershave.

darkfoam said...

Nope, not you, Karl ..
There's just so many that are not playing anymore.

I've been absent Karl,
stalking through thick stuff - dead deer -
while others just drive.

Another example of my way. Mine was one of the few shots I heard...Still-hunting takes patience, persistence, attention, quick responses sometimes, also freezing your derriere off. You also have to like being out, I think these road hunters are just soft, lazy slobs. Visual if you wish to look at Serendipity.

I am thinking unless prodded, many once regulars are awol. Things do get busy, some people have moved to pinterest and facebook.

So sorry I missed it.
However, here's one ... MY way!

Tough, strong, hard, fighter

Foam: You're right and I know it. Serendipity may be right, if you don't reach out and issue a personal invite. Folks are too busy to show.

Serendipity: As I said at your place. Food over haiku, what are you thinking. Just joking.

I'm sure you're right about the other venues and the need to prod for attendance. However I'm beginning to think that the end may the be coming. Me, I'm happy to keep that it, I'm just not sure about other folks.

Rafael: Full of it are we. You who show up late and offer one for discussion only.

BlazngScarlet: I'm sorry you missed it as well. Nice message of strength and pride.

All: I will get the post up tomorrow. Sorry for the delay, something came up.

Quality, Karl...full of quality:D

Y'all are too good for me... Blaze included! Might as well throw her in the ol' mix'n pot, yes???

Anywho...congrats to the WINNER, whomever it is. Fantastico!!!

Doom said...

Well, I think people are coming in late, too, so as to not be judged? No one seems to have the time. And... my medicine is about to go up, so I am backing out this week, of the competition.

My nerves get too jittery when judging takes so long...

Good evening Folks,

I'm sorry for the delay. I had something come up at work, I have to deal with. I won't have time to put a winners post together this week.

Foams second:

She felt stifled, choked
Her gaze fell on distant lands..
With spread wings she flew

Its message yelled, my way. This is my pick for the winner.

No worries, Karl. I think we all understand what can come up during a day in the life. Foam is always a fine choice, and was my personal pick, as well!

Congrats, Foam...you have a quite powerfulness to yourself, which shines through loud and clear. Wonderful!!!

Will we be on for this Monday...same time, different channel?

darkfoam said...

Me? Well then.. Thank you! I did not expect this.
Anyhoo.. I'll throw something together this evening since I will be AWOL over the rest of the weekend.
Hmm ..thinking here ..

Great job of hosting in spite of the late hour job crisis, Karl. Stuff does happen. No harm, no foul.

Foam, congrats. Ditto what Rafa said. I have met some interesting people through the Haiku Monday gig.

I may get an entry in - or not - will be off elk hunting, and may or not have Internet. We'll see. But I'll try.

Karl,
what a fantastic theme. The low turn out--well, we's all had that discussion.

Folks is busy, true, but weren't we always? Also, the word veri is an impediment. But... FB killed bloggin', to mah mind. FB is so quick, pretty thought--less. Nothing required of ya'. But it is rather vacant: "Happy Saturday y'all, going into Target fer a new aig-beater. Yak atcha' later" An' ya' expect folks to hit the "like" button fer this inanity?

Anyhoo, I owes bloggerville an apology fer bein' nearly AWOL. Am working on a post now, an will git mahself to Foamy's fer HM.

One thang more, Pappy Cracker were on National TV on Veteran's Day. He wuz part of an Honor Flight. Said it done his ole heart much good to see the response of all the folks. Pappy wuz at Pearl Harbor, then onto the Pacific Theatre. Anyhoo, belated gratitutde to all who may have a brother, father, uncle, grandpappy, cuz, who handed on freedom fer all us'uns.
