Movie clip Wednesday: Shootout

Welcome to movie clip Wednesday this week's topic: Shootouts. Hosted by the lovely Joanna Cake. If you care to play find a clip try to make it less than 3 minutes and go by Joanna's site and tell her you're up.

There are so many good shootout scenes, how can you pick just one? Actually I couldn't and after watching about 20. And finding most of the ones I wanted to use embedding disabled. I settled on 2. The first from The Outlaw Josey Wales. A movie that had enough shootouts each member of the group could pick one and still not play them all. And the second from Raiders of the Lost Ark, a scene that tickles my funnybone every time I see it. Yes Buzz I realize you've used this one before, yet I think it fits here.

I counted 14 shots and 9 dead. Good shooting, Clint!

You hit my sweet tooth with this movie. I delibertly avoided TOJW because I figured someone (you) would go with this movie. You can never go wrong with Josie Wales and there are actaully 5 good gunfight scenes in here - your's being one. I probably would have chosen this. Then of course there's the final battle at Tom Turner's ranch, Zuchie's trading post and the shootout with the bounty hunter in the saloon (Dyin' ain't much of a livin' boy.) But I could go on and on.

Happy MCW!

You cant go wrong with Clint full stop. One Eastwood can trump a deuce of Pacino and De Niro any time :)

Fabulous choice, Karl :)

Troll: Well my count was 13, one from the rifle and 12 from the six guns. If we could only do that the real world.

Buzz Kill: I appreciate you leaving it for me. You're making my point, we could've all use the movie and not hit the same gunfight.

Joanna: I agree and thank you.

Like you and Joanna Karl... Harrison made an appearance over at mine.
It was the first scene that came to my mind not being an officianado if shoot'em up movies...

A 3way jinx!
Happy MCW....

Kewl movie clips. Nothing like a good shoot 'em dead scene and there's nobody like Eastwood when it comes to these .. :) I loved the second clip. I've always thought it was hilarious.

Ho! yep!!

This Raider's scene is hiLARious.

Reminds me of a bar fight Uncle tole me about when we's in collich--one of Uncle's buddies-- not high on the suave meter--got into a shoutin' melee wif' a fella who announced he was a black belt, his hands were registered weapons, yadda yadda...and he did all this posturin' while Uncle's friend, a tad in his cups, jes' said "be still will ya'. ya' makin' me dizzy" to which the fella shouted some obscenity an came a runnin'-- whereupon friend nailed Black Belt wif' a wicked left hook. Broke Black Belt's jaw.

Happy MCW!

I've never understood the martial arts as a means of self defense. As a SPORT, okay. But nothing beats a gun for expediency and efficiency.

Princess: It was one of the best scenes in a very good movie.

Foam: Scenes like these were Eastwood's claim to fame.

Aunty Belle: Great story, if you knew how many times I've seen it reenacted.

Moi: "The lord made men, but Sam Colt made them equal ”
