Well folks it's time for another weekly installment of Movie Clip Wednesday, hosted by Milk River Madman If you wish to play. Post a clip on your site. Try to make it 3 minutes or less, then stop by MRM's site say I'm up, with the title of your movie. You can also see who else is playing. And find some very interesting and differing perspectives on a single topic. The topic for this week: Favorite Foreign Actress. I chose Maureen O'hara, after watching her performance in Miracle on 34th Street last week she deserves the position. So I started looking for clips and I found the ones below the first is from Mcclintock a truly funny film. The second is from Only the Lonely with John Candy and the third is a tribute to her, with a montage of her films. The clip are all over time. If you only do one of them to the first.
There's a party at Boxers this weekend it's promising to be a lot of fun. So pop in and see what's happening. And make sure you leave a comment. The comment count at the end of the party will go tort a dollar amount for charity.

Another one I didn't know was furriner.
Maureen O'hara was a gracious and classy woman. Great actress. Happy MCW and we'll see you Friday. Thanks for the shout out.
Troll: Yes, she was born in Ireland. Still lives there in the summer and spends the winter in the Virgin Islands. Not a bad setup.
Boxer: Yes, she was. You're welcome.
Loved her in McClintock. She teamed with The Duke in several movies. Beautiful red hair and other qualities high on the list of the superficial male.
MRM: Unlike so many other actresses, she had all those assets and could still act.
I adore her. We were talking about her this weekend at my house. Love her best in The Quiet Man with John Wayne. And, of course, in real Parent Trap movie with Brian Keith. But her role in Miracle on 34th Street is a Christmas classic and probably part of why I grew up wanting to be an office kind of woman! Those fabulous suits she wore. Sigh.
I got nuttin' for today. So sorry.
A real looker, that's for sure! Happy MCW!
Pam: Why don't they make suits like that anymore? She had the brains to back them up too. She would transcribe for John Ford on the set.
Moi: I should ask you this question: Why don't they make suits like that anymore? They keep bringing back fashions. Why not bring back the 30's and the 40's fashion? Beats the heck out of bell bottoms.
She was not just a looker. On the passing of her third husband, she took over and ran an airline that he had founded.
I remember seeing her in The Quiet Man when I was a kid. She was the firey redheaded wife of John Wayne. The Irish kin folk encouraged the Duke to slap her around so she would obey him. I was both amazed and horrofied by that. Another classic actress (and she did color movies too!) in the same vein as Audrey Hepburn.
Happy MCW and New Year!

Mah favorite though, wuz Parent Trap.

I remember her in several JW movies too. Great stuff! HNY Karl xx
Buzz Kill: The Quiet Man was her personal favorite of all the movie she made. If you want an interesting read go here can scroll down to Filmography. She wrote all the notes. Her eyes and hair deserved color.
Aunty Belle: I would agree with Uncle. Parent Trap was a hoot.

K9: John Wayne was one of her favorites too. She did become a naturalized U.S. citizen.
Joanna: She made quite a few with him.
