Movie Clip Wednesday: Favorite Christmas movie.

Well folks it's time for another weekly installment of Movie Clip Wednesday, hosted by Milk River Madman If you wish to play. Post a clip on your site. Try to make it 3 minutes or less, then stop by MRM's site say I'm up, with the title of your movie. You can also see who else is playing. And find some very interesting and differing perspectives on a single topic. The topic for this week: Christmas movie. This week I will present to you 2 movies: Scrooge with Albert Finney made a 1970 and Father Christmas of BBC 4 production released in 1991 based on the book by Raymond Briggs who also wrote the Snowman another favorite of mine. Scrooge was based on Charles Dickens a Christmas Carol and except for some weirdness at the end, is a fun romp through the story. I choose the first clip because, I really do. I choose the second clip because it reminds me of dancing with my lovely wife. And the third, well it's the way I wanted Santa to always be the other 364 days. (it's a long clip, the first 3 minutes will give you the picture, I'm sorry embeding was disabled and yes Buzz they're all in color.)

A Very Happy Holiday to all of You!

Technically not a blogger jinx, but I went with Scrooge too. Only I went with the Black and White one. Bwahahaha

I've seen the first version before but I've not seen the BBC one. I won't be able to get that song out of my head for a while - Correct.

Happy MCW and Merry Christmas.

Lovely choice Karl, I think Scrooge holds the record for remakes in it's various forms.
From the B and W original to bill murray in Scrooged.

Have a very Merry Christmas...

Buzz Kill: there are so many I think you would have to choose the exact movie scene to jinx.

I know what you mean my dears. If you ever get a chance watch Father Christmas and the Snowman they're short, but very well done.

Princess: Thank you. if Charles Dickens only knew what he was starting.

The Dickens tale is one of my favorites, so thanks for the heads up on one I haven't seen (the BBC) production. When I was in Junior High, I played the role of Ghost of Christmas Future. I got the biggest kick out of the black robe and hood and pointing my finger in a menacing manner.

Happy MCW!

Good picks. I love the 1970 version, I think when I saw it (11?) I thought it was the original.

OK, I was 11.

Also, there's nothing better than hearing a man enjoys dancing with his wife! :-) Lucky wife.

and Happy MCW.

Never heard of it. Sounds good. I wonder how many versions there have been.

Albert Finney did a very creditable Scrooge!

As to Father Christmas, it is just so wonderful. I watched it with my kids and we all loved it. Raymond Briggs writing of the rest of Santa's life is just magical!

Have a great Chrimbo x

I haven't watched either but like Finney very much. I think Princess is right in that Scrooge has been remade more than any tale.

Wow. In color and everything.

Happy MCW and Merry Christmas.

Moi: I'll bet you did have a lot of fun. That would be a cool role to play. Plus you don't have to spend much time memorizing lines.

Boxer: The first one was in 1901.

Oh, she knows, I reminde her all the time.

Pam: It's my favorite.

Troll: I looked it up just for you. There have been 21 movie versions based on a Christmas Carol.

Joanna: Briggs really did a fine job with the story. Santa Claus in Las Vegas is just a hoot.

MRM: There are several versions in black and white I could dig one up if the color is bothering you.

Happy clip day my friends and a very Merry Christmas to you all!
