Movie clip Wednesday: First date movie

Milk River Madman is our host and doing a fine job at it.(Well until he picked this topic) If you wish to play. Post a clip on your site. Try to make it 3 minutes or less, then stop by MRM's site say I'm up, with the title of your movie. You can also see who else is playing. The topic for this week is: First date movie. OK this one has me at a loss. I can't think of a single girl I had dated, that I took to a movie on our first date. Before I had my license it would have meant having to ride with parents, definitely not cool on a date. And I bought my Harley before I had my license. As soon as I was legal on the road, first dates tended to be long rides or rides to parties. Can't remember for sure, but it was 3 or 4 months before Mrs. Karl and I even went to a movie. I believe this is the movie we went to see on our first movie date. We both enjoyed the dance scenes and thought that the rest of it as a little over the top. Roy Scheider and the rest of the cast were certainly easy to look at and their dance scenes were well done. The film was directed by Bob Fosse and even though Roy Scheider character is named Joe Gideon, he's really portraying Fosse. I hope you enjoy All That Jazz.

I have a strong feeling that Mrs. Karl chose this movie. Am I right?

Happy MCW.

Troll: To tell you the truth, I can't remember. But that was likely the case.

I saw this movie a long time ago, but I liked Roy Scheider in it a lot. "It's show time, folks."

A smart date movie really. Nothing to embarrassing and women love dancing.

Happy MCW!

Is this the one with ..... "One ... singular sensation ...." Very cool and interesting choice. And a super-cool musical as well, I can remember a time before they had that *stigma* attached to them .... ;) Happy MCW!

Buzz Kill: He did look sharp in this film. Yet, if I remember correctly he actually had a heart attack during the filming. As actors go, he was a good one.

Pam: No, I believe that's A Chorus Line. It's kind of sad that musicals have fallen out of favor. They are some of my favorites.

Fosse was a mess, but nonetheless brilliant. I haven't seen this in a long time, but remember really liking it. You still got your Harley? Obviously, you still have Mrs. Karl :o)

one of my most favorite movies! I really need to see this again. Some of the best dance numbers I've seen in a long time.

Mr.Boxer and I say "it's showtime folks" wayyyy too much. Usually in the morning, on a Monday, and it's never good. Ahaahhaa.

Happy MCW.

Moi: Yes he was, it seems to be a recurring theme with people in show business. Yes I do, the same one I bought when I was 15, a 1946 Knucklehead. I've owned other bikes, she's the one I held onto.

Boxer: Ha, I started said to Buzz, but I'll say it to you. "It's Showtime Folks" is a phrase used often here as well.

Fosse for all his faults was a fantastic coriographer. There are many today that cite him as their inspiration and role model...
This was and still is a great musical and is forever returning to the stage...
"Royal Stamp of Approval" Karl
Happy MCW...
