Haiku Thursdays

Pam is hosting Haiku Thursdays, stop by and see who else is playing. This week it's topic: The Oil Spill.

The stoppage came 85 days
16 hours after explosion
Don't blow again

This is by no means over. Yet, if the wellhead holds at least the new flow has stopped!

I just hope it doesn't "blow" underground from built up pressure causing a BIGGER mess.

I hope they know what they're doing !

Heff: They knew what they were doing. Had they not cut corners and push the limits of acceptable industry practice. This would not have a happened.

If it does blow, the last 85 days will seem like a cakewalk.

Like Heff, I fear the possible Methane bubble event. I've read reports of some serious geysers up to 20 miles away from the well head. NO doubt the men on point have and will continue to apply their best guesses.
Sadly, to be even a little off on the guessing can have catastrophic consequences.

But for now, I am trying to celebrate the gush stop. I'm up at the Pond with this week's visual haiku challenge.

Hi Karl! I said over on my page that maybe I should have called this theme earlier ... ironic that it would get successfully capped on the day of the haiku challenge! I take full credit (unless she blows again)

it is interesting that TODAY it's capped. Great Haiku, Sir. I hope you have a good weekend.

Fingers crossed this is the beginning of the clean up x

I like to think our Haikus had something to do with the well capping. I don't think this is over yet. I'm afraid they'll get control of all of the spilled oil and then have another blowout.

Hey guy’s sorry for the slow reply. I haven’t been connected for a few days. I will stop by to see what your up to as soon as I can.

Fishy: “geysers up to 20 miles away from the well head” aren’t likely a fault caused by this well. They may have been going on for a long time, just no one was watching. It is not uncommon for gas to escape from underground. One of the explanations for the losses in the Bermuda triangle is gas venting to the surface.

Pam: As long as it’s stopped, I will happily give you the credit. As you probably know. They have found some gas releasing from around the well, so the story continues.

Boxer: The power of positive thought.

Joanna: If I could walk with my toes crossed, I would, in the hope they don’t reopen the valves.

Buzz Kill: I would like to think so too, but, it’s not over yet. However, the capacity for positive control is still better now, than at any time since the explosion.

Aunty Belle: Ciao, come era la vostra vacanza?

i wonder why the tightly controlled info and media black out continues. dont you?

Karl said...

Chockory: This problem is getting in the way of the administration's agenda. They don't want a deal with it and they have the media in their pocket. They don't want people spouting off about their fielding a inept response.
