Buster Keaton is one of my all time favorite entertainers. Such an expressive face, the epitome of tragi-comic. And was there ever a more dame-y broad than Mae West? Way ahead of her time. Happy Mute Monday!

I did a similar MM a few months back but you have way better pictures, especially Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton. With the exception of the Stooges, I've never seen these pictures before. nicely done.
Happy MM!

Classics indeed. Lloyd, Keaton and Chaplin. Writers, directors, stunt-co-ordinators, dancers, choreographers, producers, promoters, etc...

And funny too.

Happy Mute Monday!

Moi: I thought it was so neat that he did it all himself. May West was ahead of her time, even now I can't think of a modern celebrity that would compare.

Buzz Kill: I didn't see it, must've been before I started MM. The Three Stooges shot is the only one I specifically looked for, the rest I just lucked into.

K9: She really did push the limits. Oh go rent one, Buster Keaton really was an amazing talent.

Troll: They really did have to do it all and still be funny too. Back when film could be considered a small business.

Happy Mute Monday!

Good Morning Karl,
The dawning of awareness of peril as the hood ornament for a train?
Priceless, and classic. Howling good laugh with this post. Happy MM.

Buster Keaton is hands down THE comedian of the big screen. Everyone copies from him. The Master.

And that Mae West? Wow-zer. I would have loved to have a few drinkees with that woman.

Great idea (as always) and Happy Mute Monday!

I love all of these! Who is the beauty in the first one? That is one of the coolest pics I've ever seen.

Happy MM Karl!

Fishy: That's a cattle guard, think of the possibilities. glad you like them.

Boxer: he was a master and May West, well...lets just say a drink would be a good start.

Kym: Its Mae West. A great talent well before her time, she's the model of what women were suppose to look like. Then a fashion nut cases got involved and we ended up with anorexia instead.
