I saw this and thought it might give just a little perspective:

How many zeros in a billion?
This is too true to be funny.
The next time you hear a politician use the word 'billion' in a casual manner, think about whether you want the 'politicians' spending YOUR tax money.
A billion is a difficult number to comprehend, but one advertising agency did a good job of putting that figure into some perspective in one of it's releases.
A. A billion seconds ago it was 1959.
B. A billion minutes ago Jesus was alive.
C. A billion hours ago our ancestors were living in the Stone Age.
D. A billion days ago no-one walked on the earth on two feet.

E..A billion dollars ago was only
8 hours and 20 minutes,
at the rate our government
is spending it.

F. In the week of negotiation and stroke of a pen you can multiply it 700 times.

Screw the country, bail me out.

Two birds, one stone.

Kidding, of course.

Have a good one.

Jenn: Maybe more than the stroke of a pen now, but...

Wes: It sure would be nice if two birds and the stone fix this.

Hope you feel better.

Fuck yeah I'm against the bailout. I pay enough in taxes and still can't feed my ass. I can't work and go to school at the same time and want to finish up my school. I love to eat, that's why.

Whoa....certainly gives perspective, doesn't it?

Kate: You're not alone, I was listening to congressmen being interviewed right before the vote, most of them said their constituents wanted them to vote no, but they were going to vote yes anyway.

Real Live Lesbian: Unfortunately, the folks that are spending our money don't seem to be able to lock onto that perspective.

Enjoy your party this weekend sounds like fun.

By the way happy belated birthday.

then we should vote them out of office.

I know too many friends right now who don't have jobs right now. and we're paying for this stupid bailout. how about bailing out people out of work?

Hey, where'd my comment go?!

It truly does.
Personally, I think it's the biggest mistake they could make.

Laney: Wow is an understatement of this mess.

Kate: I'm seriously planning on voting some out. The unemployment issue started in the nineties and it won't get any better until we stop shipping jobs overseas.

Heather: I don't know where did it go.

As you know it's too late now and only time will tell.

Kittie Kate said...

Yeah, we need to stop shipping jobs overseas. I know a lot of people who lost their jobs overseas (I know a lot of computer geeks).

Love this way of presenting things and putting them into perspectives!
