Movie clip Wednesday: Best Wedding Scene

Movie Clip Wednesday, hosted by Anonymous Boxer, Milk River Madman and now the gauntlet has been passed to the lovely and vivacious Joanna Cake. Here's how it works. Post a clip on your site. Try to make it 3 minutes or less, then stop by Joanna's site say I'm up, with the title of your movie. You can also see who else is playing. And find some very interesting and differing perspectives on a single topic. The topic for this week:Best Wedding Scene. As you may have heard there's a wedding going on in England this week it's got a bunch of people excited mainly the poor taxpayer of Britain, who like so many fathers of the bride end up paying bills they had no idea would be coming. Like the cost of security. Father of the Bride (1950 version) was my first choice When I looked around and was unable to find any actual wedding scenes I wanted to use. So I went back to the drawing board and found a movie that actually had two weddings although it's been so long I don't remember whether there were actual wedding scenes or not. But from the groom's point of view the wedding is not the important part. It's after the wedding. And with that thought in mind, for your viewing pleasure. The end of Young Frankenstein.

And for an extra bonus I will include a tune that went over really big at my wedding. The fellow that played music that our wedding was a friend of ours and played regularly at a pub we used to frequent. His rendition is better than this one, but it's the only version I could find with all the verses. You should've seen the faces of the in-laws.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

"Young Frankenstein" is an awesome movie! I adored Madeline Kahn!

Happy MCW to you Karl! =)

BlazngSsarlet: Most of the in-laws relations, were near teetotalers from the Midwest. It was a sight to see half of the room was cheering and singing along and the other half of the room, well they weren't. To put it politely.

I love the scene where she tells him which basket to put his poo poo panties. he already learned to tune her out as he turns back to his paper.great choice.

the british taxpayers are on the hook for the wedding and the entire housing and running of the monarchy! meanwhile they hold vast lands and wealth. Dear God what in the world will it take for people to wake up?

the royal wedding coverage makes me sick. theres blood in this ground that says i dont have to care about what a bunch of inbred figurehead elitists are doing. (grherhahahahaha)

K9: I never have understood the fascination with the royals over there, the fascination over here, I find mind boggling. Of course, I really don't understand much of what modern society finds exciting.

Im with K9, it's the scene with the poopoo panties that does it for me!

I always have been a Royalist - too much time spent immersed in history books not to be really. I think it's great to have traditions and celebrations that can still unite large sections of the population and it pulls in an awful lot of tourists, judging by the number of foreigners filmed bedding down for the night on the Mall this evening :)

Joanna: from a historical point of view I have been interested in the royals. Although primarily my interest has bin from Victoria and earlier. I'm currently reading a book about King Alfred. However I find the modern royals more of tabloid, than of substance. If you break even from the tourist earnings, compared to the expenses. I would be surprised.

Replying to your reply. No you and Ruf don't have to be drunk for the wedding. If you do get hitched, don't let conventions slow you down. Kick up your heels and have fun with it. All the best to both of you.

Aunty Belle: Sadly she succumbed to cancer.

On my way.

I should have hired your guy for my wedding because it was BORING. Love Young Frankenstein but I am more of a Teri Garr fan. The scene right after the one you showed was pretty funny too.

And I agree with Joanna that the royal wedding unites the country - at least for a day. All the US has to do that is natural diasters and terrorist bombings.

Happy MCW!

Buzz Kill: He definitely liven things up. Didn't Ms. Garr get a big surprise in the next scene?

You two have a point. Although these days even a natural disaster or an attack doesn't necessarily bring people together.

Jackie Sue: I have a hard time envisioning you worshipping anyone. But, if you say so...

eeek. I'm super late, no excuse. I love this movie. I had the biggest crush on Gene Wilder. (I think that worried my Mother.) If I had played, I would have gone with "How to Marry a Millionaire."

Boxer: You're never too late and always welcome. Although the Gene Wilder thing would have me a little worried too;)
