Movie clip Wednesday: Best 1930s Film

Good morning it's Wednesday and we all know what that means, time to dig into our collective psyches and post a clip to amuse and entertain. It's the first anniversary of Movie Clip Wednesday, hosted by Anonymous Boxer with her faithful sidekick and all around good guy Milk River Madman, who has been running the show since last summer and doing a mighty fine job at it. If you wish to play. Post a clip on your site. Try to make it 3 minutes or less, then stop by MRM's site say I'm up, with the title of your movie. You can also see who else is playing. And find some very interesting and differing perspectives on a single topic. The topic for this week: Best 1930s Film. I don't know if this breaks the official rules. But I'm going to reuse a clip. To me the best films of the 1930s are The Thin Man series. Many of my favorite films are from the thirties the Marx Brothers movies, movies like Captain Blood with Errol Flynn and Mutiny on the Bounty. All great movies and in black and white. But the Thin Man and its sequels have always been my favorites and of the few movies I own, I have all six.

The Thin Man is a 1934 American comic detective film starring William Powell and Myrna Loy as Nick and Nora Charles, a flirtatious married couple who banter wittily as they solve crimes with ease. Nick is a hard drinking retired detective and Nora a wealthy heiress. Their dog, the Wire-Haired Fox Terrier Asta, played by Skippy, was also a popular character. I hope you enjoy.

Well, you already KNOW I consider these classics. I need to find the rest of them. Only have the first two, I think.

Happy MC day!

Troll: Yes, I do. I bought them in a set. And the first two really are the best. Yet, they were all entertaining.

ahhhh, The Thin Man series, a true classic. What a couple! What a dog! He made drinking look good, which isn't great, but I think you know what I mean.

Happy MCW!

I love that first clip. Too many one liners to keep up with. Myrna Loy, a Montana native! Happy MCW.

Just goes to show: the couple that drinks together, stays together. Because it's all one great big blur.
Hopefully, a big blur as witty and fun as these two make it seem.

Great choice.

Happy MCW!

Boxer: Yes, I know what you mean.

MRM: She was one of the best things you're great state ever produced.

Pam: Shaken, not stirred. Right?

Moi: That's an interesting way to look at it. Unfortunately, I don't think the "witty and fun" works for most, just the blur.

I'm going to have to find them and re-introduce myself.

Oh great, the thin man - again. Bwahahaha

"You were shot 5 times in the tabloids - he never came anywhere near my tabloids" Bwahahahaha These are fun.

I really thought you and I were going to jinx on Mutiny on the Bounty but I threw caution to the wind.

Happy MCW!

BlazngScarlet: Glad I could refresh your memory.

Foam: They were indeed. Why don't you play next week.

Buzz Kill: Tabloids is one of the best scenes in the movie. I'd love to find one of those little rifles.

Sorry for the slow reply, it's been one of those weeks.
