Blogger issues

This post should have been for Movie Clip Wednesday. Instead, since Tuesday, I have been unable to connect to any blogger site. I've found this more than a little disconcerting and inwardly telling. In that, conversing and interacting with the folks in this group gives me a sense of loss when I cannot do it. I have family members that I don't talk to for months and think nothing about it. Yet not knowing what Auntie, Boxer, Fishy or Moi are up to, left me feeling disconnected. Not seeing the e-mail stream of comments from Buzz, Heff or Madman make the day seem a little slow. Does this happen to any of you?

Dear Karl,
Blogger has been Playing sillybuggers with many people lately since upgrading their design elements etc.

But I know how you feel..we get attatched to our blog friends and really miss the contact when the power to do so is taken from us....

I just hope all this tweaking settles down soon...

Princess: Thanks, so do I.

Yep, I know what you're talking about, Karl. This is a fine group of interesting folks I always enjoy hearing from, or about.

Take care,
eggy

I have not been experiencing any problems other than the ones I make for myself. I missed Madman's posting of the MCW theme. So your problems may have something to do with your system. Didn't you have some kind of computer problem recently? Other than that, I got nothing.

when my computer when on the blink and I didn't have a connect to my friends on line? I thought I was going to die..I would run to the library and log on and find out what everyone was doing..go home, remember someone I forgot and go back to the library ..lucky for me i only live 1/4 of a tenth of a mile from the library...sigh*

Eggy: It is indeed a neat group of people.

Buzz Kill: The problem was in the network interface from the cable company that provides the internet service. The funny thing about it was the only sites it was blocking were blogger sites. I still haven't figured that one out. The previous problem was a hardware issue, much easier to find.

Enjoy your vacation.

Jackie Sue: I remember when it happened, you were Not a happy camper. Although, if you're walking it would be a good way to get a little exercise.

This disconnect bothered me more than I care to admit.

Heff: So, is it an addiction?

Evening Karl,
The short answer is yes.

The longer answer is this particular blogging group ( I still think of us as Troll's blog family)is a very interesting cross section of good folks. We do not all share the same politics, relgion, lifestyle or socio-economic bracket. This reality is part of the glue. For me this diversity is often far more interesting than the same old folks we interact with regularly.

Then too, have you noticed, there are not people in this blog group who know me locally? Because of that separation I can address issues here without the subject matter, or the responses, becoming the local gossip. That accords me a freedom of expression I don't actually enjoy elsewhere.

Like you, I have separation anxiety when I am away or other regulars are absent for a span. I do, in fact, pray for people in this blog community whom I have never met and likely never will.

But then I have witnessed Pam's vigil for Carole and Boxer's losses and her creative outlets and dogs, I have smiled and cried over Chickory's pet chickens and I still miss Troll, I love reading about Buzz's pride for his kids although I loathe he refers to one as "the pudge". Milk River Madman is an interesting mix but any man who will show no embarassment for loving a good dog is noteworthy in my book. And I really appreciate his stepping forward when Boxer needed to priortize elsewhere. Then we come to folks like Aunty Belle who I think of as a philosophy professor and Moi who writes as I wish I could. Each one is a person to me, not just lines on a screen.

Have you ever read a book which so strongly effected you it felt as if you knew the characters and had valid emotional responses to their
stories? It is the same for the

Troll Family Bloggers.

Yes. I think the virtual social circle one creates on line can and often is just as viable and emotion-laden as the relationships we have in "real" life.

(Beautifully put by Fishy, BTW, and thanks for the kind words, Senorita.)

Sorry about the repeats. Blogger is so unpredictable these days. I left a comment for Pam the other day only to be informed my comment could not be uploaded. I made several attempts to navigate the problem to no avail. So I gave up, tried to exit the site only to find my comment had been posted 6 times! Very frustrating.

Fishy: You have stated my point, more eloquently than I could have put it. Maybe less than an addiction and more of comradeship.
The Troll Family Bloggers, has a ring to it. Kind of like the Von Trapp Family Singers. What you think should we go on the road.

Troll a sneer along growling sneer
Buzz a comment full of fun
Moi a name she calls herself always a long long way to run...

Moi: I think you're right. Yet, you guys are real life just at a long distance.

LOL!
Now I will hear the theme song for the Troll Family Bloggers with visions of Moi running a long, long, way .....
