Wednesday Movie Clips: Musicals is the theme this week. So you feel like falling off into the time warp that is blogger, stop by anonymous boxer and see who else is playing.
I love musicals. This scene is a favorite. I hope you enjoy it.
Great choice! But I can't see West Side Story without it being clouded by my dad's viewpoint that the song "Maria" was the worst song ever. He hated it with a rare passion. Happy movie clip WEdnesday!
Musicals bring the best and worst out, dont' they? I have to agree about "Maria", but loved WSS as a kid and "AMERICA" was my absolute favorite. I love the energy and dancing and the song is very well written. Great pick. I enjoyed watching this. Thanks for playing.
Hah! My macho camacho husband absolutely LOVES this movie. If it happens to be on, you can't get him to click out of it. Not that there's anything wrong with that :o)
Pam: Interesting how someone else's feeling can change our own.
Boxer: Funny as a kid I liked the whole movie. I saw it about a year ago and found that I didn't care for it as much. But this scene, I still really enjoyed.
I was going to do 76 trombones, but I couldn't find a decent clip.
Troll: They were a hard commodity to come by in 1950s Hollywood.

Never saw it. First time I've heard that song. Kinda cute. Interesting that most (maybe all) the actors weren't Ricans.
Happy MWC

K9: Yes, she does.
Moi: Nothing at all wrong with, he's a man comfortable in his own skin.
I saw Rita Morena live about 30 years ago and she was smoking hot.
Boxer: I'll bet she was, she was fine dancer and stayed in great shape.
Troll: Rita Morena was actually born in Puerto Rico.
COOL!
Dang!
I'm starting to feel YOUNG again!
I remember seeing this movie as a kid. Loved America and the Jets song. And Rita Morena was a hottie - still is at 78.
Happy MCW!
West Side Story is my favorite of all time. Even though the acting was mediocre, the story has alot of truth. Sad as it is.
Have a wonderful day.
AND, thank you for sending me Jenn's way, isn't he adorable?
Boneman: Nothing like a little toe tapping to get you going.
Buzz Kill: America and Officer Krupke were my favorites. She has aged well.
Heather: Knowing that makes it worth the post.
You're welcome. I was glad to hear from her. Evan really is a nice looking little guy.
Karl! most excellent chioce. WSS always reminded me of a "the other side of the tracks" version of The Outsiders.
Never saw that one either. I used to be Oliver when I was a youngin.'
