Wild stuff. Is it true it's never been photographed?

Happy Mute Monday!

I remember reading a novel once that mentioned the green flash and have been wondering ever since if they're real. I guess they are!

Does that mean we could see it in the desert, too?
(or is that dessert? I always try to remember with the poetry thingie, but I'm finding nothing seems to work. Did the fellow desert his dessert in the desert?)

Small matter. I thought it was Disney fantasy till I saw this.
So, basically, you can find space and science in ANYTHING?
You're good, Karl.
Let's see what kind of space science you can come up with for furniture...
d=))

Happy Mute Moday, sir!

Never heard of such a thing! But of course, there is a scientific explanation and you provided it! Now I will be on the lookout for a green flash. And hopefully it won't be a martian in a trenchcoat.

Are you a teacher in real life, Karl? Because I love the way you organize your Mute's. This is one of your best. Green flash is something I learned in school, but these pictures/etc are great.

happy MM!

Troll: These shots are from legitimate sites. I have to believe they are real photographs. I have never photograph the event.

Moi: Yes, it's real last time I saw the phenomenon, I was at about 30°45' North 71°57' West.

Boneman: If you had an unobstructed veiw of the horizon at sunset it would be possible, although I've never heard of it.

Hmm, we shall see.

Pam: That would be an interesting flasher, indeed;)

Jacque Sue: It is, but it happens fast.

Jenn: Thank you. My dear, you have been missed.

Boxer: Only in the school of hard knocks. Thank you, I only popped two vest buttons at your comment.

Joanna: I have seen it. Thank you!

Is this like St. Elmo's fire? The first pic is pretty cool.

Happy MM!

what the what?? I've never heard of greenflash, but it's totally cool, and I dig it.

Happy MM, Karl.

Well, perhaps I should have 'dressed' more for the part for replying?

(guess who never saw Pirates of the Carribean? I ain't saying...but her name starts with a "K")

Buzz Kill: No the two phenomena are different.

St. Elmo's fire is luminescent, believed to be caused by a static electricity finding a path to ground.

Green flash is due to refraction of sunlight as it passes below horizon of the observer.

Kym: Hope you have the opportunity to observe it someday.

Watermelon: Considering that green was the subject of the day, you appear to be in proper dress.
